Lebanon: Sixteen people were killed and 20 others wounded on Wednesday in two Israeli airstrikes targeting the towns of Shamshtar and Dours in the Baalbek district of southern Lebanon.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that 10 people were killed and four others wounded in the airstrike early Wednesday morning near the cemetery in the town of Shamshtar in Baalbek. Rescue and ambulance teams are still working at the targeted site.
The agency also reported that another Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in the town of Dours in Baalbek, resulting in the deaths of six people and injuries to 16 others, all of Syrian nationality, including women and children.
Since March 2nd, the Israeli forces have escalated their aggressive actions against Lebanon, targeting various Lebanese towns, villages, and cities. The intensified airstrikes have resulted in hundreds of fatalities, thousands of wounded, and the displacement of approximately 1.5 million Lebanese citizens. This escalation coincides with the aggression launched by the United States and the Zionist entity against Iran.
