Acting PM Reviews Progress of Integration in Public Service Units

Sana'a: Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah met on Tuesday with Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Integration, Dr. Khaled Al-Hawali. The meeting addressed the progress of tasks and work related to completing the integration process and updating the organizational structures of the public service units included in this process, as well as the level of achievement of all relevant technical committees in fulfilling their assigned tasks.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Acting Prime Minister emphasized the importance of completing the integration process across all included units and implementing structural modernization and development as quickly as possible. He highlighted the significant impact this process has on institutional stability, change, development, and progress. He commended the efforts of the Vice Chairman of the Supreme Committee and the various heads and members of the technical committees for their work in completing the tasks related to this significant undertaking, each within their respective areas of responsibility.

During the meeting, the Minister of Civil Service, Dr. Al-Hawali, presented a summary report on the tasks and work completed to date. He explained that the committee is currently implementing the merger process in five ministries and units included in the merger, while preparations are underway to begin implementing the merger in three other ministries and units in the coming days. He also reviewed the work of the supporting technical committees stemming from the Supreme Committee, which include committees for inventory, preparing organizational structures and regulations, review, technical implementation of the merger process, administrative staff, buildings, and the technical committee for inventorying and archiving state documents and lands.

Dr. Al-Hawali confirmed that the Technical Committee for Inventory has completed 60 percent of its tasks, having finalized the inventory process for 127 entities included in the merger. Meanwhile, the Technical Committee for Drafting Regulations and Organizational Structures has completed the organizational regulations for 13 ministries, in addition to five decrees establishing ministries and agencies included in the merger. Work continues on finalizing eight other organizational regulations and two decrees establishing entities included in the merger, which are nearing completion.

He noted that the Technical Committee has been working on inventorying and archiving state lands and properties by developing an electronic system for this purpose in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This includes training the technical team on using the system. He confirmed that preparations are currently underway to begin the inventory and archiving process in this area.

The Minister of Civil Service explained that the Technical Committee for Administrative Staff has completed the preparation of a matrix for addressing the human resources situation in the public service units included in the merger process. In addition, the Technical Committee for Buildings has surveyed the buildings of the ministries and units included in the merger process with the help of an engineering team. He pointed out that the committee will work on redistributing the spaces in the buildings approved for the ministries and units according to the organizational structure approved for each ministry and unit.
