Sana'a: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources marked the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him and his family) birthday today with a cultural and ceremonial event. During the event, Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Al-Naimi, described the celebration as a commemoration of the birth of the greatest figure in history, sent by God to guide humanity from darkness to light. He emphasized the significance of the occasion as an opportunity to draw lessons from the Prophet's life, emulate his guidance, and follow his example in steadfastness and resilience against enemies and occupiers.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Naimi highlighted that Yemen, amid these spiritual celebrations, sends a message of solidarity with Gaza and the free people of Palestine. He called on the Islamic nation to break its silence, stand against betrayal, and reclaim its natural role in confronting the Zionist project. He further explained that commemorating the Prophet's birthday in the current historical context carries a message of defiance toward enemies, reaffirms loyalty to the Prophet, and links the values of the occasion to the nation's struggle against its adversaries.
Al-Naimi urged all to mobilize efforts and strengthen commitment in the agricultural front, which is as vital as the military front, emphasizing responsibility across all sectors. He stressed that the commemoration should inspire increased agricultural production to achieve food security and self-sufficiency. He also called for instilling love for the Prophet in future generations and using the occasion to promote charitable work, social cohesion, and unity in confronting the enemies of God and the nation. He invited broad public participation on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal to celebrate the Prophet's birthday befitting his revered status.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani, discussed the significance of the Prophet's life, ethics, principles, struggles, and contributions in various arenas. He praised the Ministry of Agriculture for achieving a transformative impact on the economy over the past five years, reducing the import bill for local agricultural products and strengthening value chains in multiple crops and fish.
Al-Madani stated, 'Today, the Ministry of Agriculture, together with its partners in the Ministries of Economy, Finance, and Local Administration, launches 42 import invoices, building on past experiences and successes.' He commended agricultural engineers, researchers, and farmers for their steadfastness and dedication on the agricultural front. He emphasized that the Prophet's birthday celebrations should serve as a foundation for building a strong Yemeni economy, ensuring a productive society that consumes what it grows and wears what it manufactures, and reinforcing economic and developmental aspects to secure the homeland.
He also highlighted the government's efforts to strengthen development and the economy through cooperative societies and support for national products and industries.
For his part, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Dr. Radwan Al-Ruba'i, noted that celebrating the Prophet's birthday in the current historical circumstances sends a message of defiance to enemies and renews loyalty to the Prophet. He described the occasion as a religious milestone for reaffirming commitment to the principles of liberation and justice brought by the Prophet and a declaration that Yemen remains steadfastly supportive of the Palestinian people regardless of aggression and blockade.
Dr. Al-Ruba'i outlined the ministry's plans and programs to enhance food security, linking productive work to faith and national responsibility toward the issues of the nation. He stressed the need for the nation to follow the Prophet's example, seeing the commemoration as an opportunity to reconnect with his life, draw lessons for reform, and strengthen the nation's stance on vital issues, particularly Palestine. He called on everyone to mobilize for the central event commemorating the Prophet's birthday and participate in a dignified celebration.
The event, attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mohammed Al-Mawlid, President of the Agricultural Cooperative Union Mohammed Basheer, and officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, featured presentations by the ministry's advisor, Engineer Yahya Al-Houthi, and cultural activist Zaid Al-Wazir, highlighting aspects of the Prophet's noble life and the importance of applying his guidance in Yemen. They emphasized that nations honor their leaders and symbols, even if they are legendary, and that Yemenis are privileged to commemorate the birth of the best of humanity, drawing lessons of love, compassion, and struggle in the path of God, defending the nation, and supporting the oppressed.
