Al-hudaydah: This afternoon, the competitions of the Prophet's Birthday Football Championship kicked off in the Al-Sukhna district of Al-Hudaydah governorate. The event is organized by the branch of the Youth and Sports Office in the district, under the supervision of the governorate's Youth Office, in celebration of the noble Prophet's Birthday for the year 1447 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the championship features 24 sports teams competing in a group-stage format. It is part of the sports and youth activities carried out by the Youth and Sports Office across the governorate's districts to mark the occasion and enhance broad community interaction and participation.
The inaugural match, held at Hilal Al-Bouta Stadium (the championship host), saw the Najm Al-Hawk team defeat Hilal Al-Bouta with a score of 2-0. The match attracted a large audience and was marked by a competitive sporting atmosphere.
Mohammad Aqari, Director of Al-Sukhna District, emphasized the importance of commemorating the birth of the Great Prophet (PBUH) through youth and sports activities that strengthen societal cohesion and solidarity.
Mohammad Al-Ruwaidi, Director of Youth in the district, noted that the championship represents a message of loyalty and belonging to the Noble Prophet and an opportunity to encourage youth to engage in fair competition and showcase their sports talents.
