Ain Center Condemns Saudi-Led Attack on Taiz Market

Taiz:The Ain Al-Insaniyah Center for Rights and Development has strongly condemned the attack on commercial shops in the central Taiz market at Mafraq Mawiyah in Al-Ta'iziyah District, Taiz Governorate. The assault, attributed to the Saudi regime, resulted in the deaths of seven citizens and injuries to 40 others, including five children.

According to Yemen News Agency, the center's statement highlighted that targeting a busy commercial market reveals a blatant disregard for civilian lives and the rules governing military conduct. It suggests that the Saudi escalation now directly affects civilian areas like markets and commercial facilities, impacting citizens' livelihoods.

The center emphasized the cumulative toll of such attacks on Yemeni markets since the conflict began, with documented figures indicating 5,254 victims, including 2,139 deaths496 of whom were childrenand 3,115 injuries, with 407 children among them. These figures underscore the severe humanitarian impact on Yemeni civilians, as markets have become dangerous zones instead of places for livelihood.

The Ain Al-Insaniyah Center stressed that the human impact of these attacks goes beyond mere statistics, with every casualty representing a family tragedy. The statement calls the targeting of children a doubled humanitarian tragedy and urges international accountability for such violations.

Holding the Saudi regime fully responsible, the center called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to document these crimes and prevent the victims from becoming forgotten statistics. It urged a firm international stance to protect civilians and halt further attacks on civilian structures, affirming that the bloodshed and suffering endured will remain documented as evidence of the ongoing crisis.
