Al-Ahbub Residents Launch Road Construction Initiative Using Traditional Tools

Sanaa:Residents of the Al-Subar and Al-Ma'azib area in the Al-Haymah Al-Dakhiliyah District of Sanaa Governorate have undertaken a community-driven initiative to construct a six-kilometer road. The project utilizes traditional tools such as picks, shovels, chisels, and crowbars.

According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative, supervised by the Al-Ahbub Development Association, aims to shorten travel distances, save time and fuel, and reduce travel risks by providing an alternative to a previously used road known for its rugged terrain and narrow slopes.

The new road will benefit approximately 2,000 residents and over 5,000 individuals from neighboring villages. It stretches from Al-Subar village to Sailat Al-Sakhnah, serving as a crucial junction for isolated areas including Al-Hadab, Bilad Al-Qabayil, Bani Amr, and Bani Yousef.

Munir Murayt, head of the Al-Ahbub Development Association, commended the community's efforts and their willingness to donate agricultural land for the road project. He also confirmed the association's commitment to supporting the project to facilitate the movement of citizens from the Al-Ahbub isolated area and its surroundings.

Community members and residents involved in the project have expressed their determination to continue the work with available resources. They hope the local authority will support them with heavy machinery to ease the construction process, similar to other district initiatives.

Despite challenging economic conditions due to ongoing aggression and siege, the initiative represents a strong community spirit, reflecting the residents' resolve to overcome obstacles and improve their living conditions for over 7,000 beneficiaries.
