Dhamar: Al-Aqsa team from Al-Hamitah emerged victorious in the Martyr President Al-Samad Football Championship, defeating Al-Qimmah team from Bani Harish 2-0 in the final match. The event took place on Monday at Al-Aqsa Stadium in Dhahr, part of Jabal Al-Sharq District in Dhamar Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament was organized by the Youth and Sports Office branch and Shabab Jabal Al-Sharq Club, with the backing of local authorities and the General Mobilization. The governorate's Youth and Sports Office supervised the event, ensuring its smooth execution.
The Director of the Governorate Youth and Sports Office, Taysir Rawiyeh, along with General Mobilization official Ahmed Al-Maabari, and other dignitaries, honored the winning team, Al-Aqsa, with the championship trophy, gold medals, and cash prizes. The runner-up, Al-Qimmah, was awarded silver medals, while individual players received financial awards for their performances. Additionally, parkour champions who secured a national-level second place were honored with gold medals.
A youth gathering followed the football match, commemorating the anniversary of the United States Marine Corps' withdrawal from Sana'a. Participants expressed their readiness for future confrontations against adversaries, underscoring the event's significance beyond just a sporting achievement.
