Al-bayda: A meeting of the Executive Unit for the Management and Financing of Agricultural, Fisheries Projects and Initiatives in Al-Bayda Governorate discussed on Tuesday the progress of agricultural projects for the years 1444-1447 AH. The meeting was chaired by Governor Abdullah Idris.
According to Yemen News Agency, Agricultural Sector Officer Eng. Mohammed Al-Haidari presented a report on the implementation of projects over the past three years, as well as projects included in this year's plan and aspects related to expanding crop cultivation across various districts.
Governor Idris stressed the importance of agricultural projects in advancing the sector and contributing to reducing the import bill, especially in light of the ongoing aggression and blockade. He also emphasized the need to expand grain cultivation due to its importance in achieving food security and self-sufficiency, calling for activating the role of agricultural associations, district agriculture offices, and development partners.
The governor further highlighted the need for coordination between farmers and relevant authorities and the implementation of programs aimed at expanding the cultivation of key agricultural crops. He praised the resilience of the agricultural sector, its workers, and their role in supplying the local market with various agricultural products.
