Muscat: The Youth and Sports Office in Al-Bayda governorate organized the second 'Greatest Messenger' Youth Festival, marking the culmination of events commemorating the Prophet's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the festival featured a parade of sports teams from various districts, clubs, academies, and branches of sports federations, along with athletic and martial arts demonstrations by practitioners of gymnastics, kung fu, karate, kickboxing, boxing, bodybuilding, and pencak silat. The Folk Heritage Troupe presented an operetta titled 'The Greatest Messenger' in celebration of the occasion.
The event was attended by Shura Council member Abdullah al-Mudhaffari, and Dr. Qasim al-Humran, a member of the Presidential Committee for Mobilizing for the Prophet's Birthday. Dr. Al-Humran emphasized that the celebration is an opportunity to strengthen religious, social, and humanitarian values by emulating the life of the Prophet Muhammad. He noted that the youth's participation highlights a deep connection to the Prophet's life and expresses sincere loyalty, reinforcing the shared values of the Yemeni people.
Dr. Al-Humran further explained that organizing such events contributes to building a conscious generation committed to faith and national identity, enhancing the spirit of cooperation and fair competition among athletes. He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, and all participants in the festival.
Province undersecretary Mohammed Al-Humaqani underscored the significance of the festival as part of the sports and cultural activities commemorating the Prophet's birthday. He noted that it reflects the youth's connection to the Prophet and embodies the values of Islamic brotherhood among young people.
Nasser Al-Ghashami, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, highlighted the Ministry of Youth's commitment to supporting sports and cultural activities that foster the physical, intellectual, cultural, and athletic development of youth. He pointed out that the festival serves as a culmination of activities witnessed by the youth and sports sector across the governorate on the anniversary of the Prophet's birthday, aiming to highlight the role of youth and athletes in strengthening faith identity and consolidating the values of solidarity and giving.
