Al-dhale': Residents of Damt, Juban, Qa'tabah, and Al-Husha districts in Al-Dhale' governorate gathered on Friday to protest against repeated Zionist-American insults directed at the Holy Quran. Demonstrators held copies of the Holy Quran aloft, expressing reverence and respect, while chanting slogans that conveyed their anger over the perceived attack on one of Islam's most sacred symbols.
According to Yemen News Agency, the protestors emphasized that these acts represent a direct attack on both religious and human values. They view such incidents as attempts to undermine the identity and fundamental principles of the Muslim nation. The demonstrators not only condemned the insults but also vowed to defend the Holy Quran, reiterating their support for the Palestinian cause. They linked the defense of Islamic sanctities to the broader confrontation with the American-Zionist agenda.
A statement released during the protests strongly denounced the renewed burning of Quran copies, stating that this act is a deliberate attack on Islamic sanctities and part of an ongoing campaign against Islam and Muslims. It highlighted that desecrating and burning the Quran symbolizes hostility towards Islam and urged for increased attention to the Quran and adherence to its teachings.
The statement also criticized the perceived silence of Muslim scholars, governments, and communities in response to the attacks on the Holy Quran. It underscored the importance of returning to the Quran for guidance and strength. Furthermore, the statement reiterated support for the Palestinian cause and Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling for ongoing solidarity with Palestinian and regional resistance movements against the American-Zionist project.
The statement concluded by stressing that confronting insults against the Holy Quran should be translated into practical measures and remain a key theme during activities marking the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, as well as in demonstrations and protests.
