Zabid: Al-Hilal Al-Shabariq secured the title of the Late Adel Al-Saqqaf Football League Cup after defeating Shabab Al-Halaj in a penalty shootout in the final match held in Zabid District.
According to Yemen News Agency, the final, hosted at Al-Shabariq Stadium in Zabid District, ended in a 2-2 draw in regular time before Al-Hilal Al-Shabariq prevailed 5-4 in penalties to claim the championship, while Shabab Al-Halaj finished as runners-up.
Shabab Al-Halaj had taken an early lead through Mukhtar Ziban, who later added a second goal. However, Al-Hilal Al-Shabariq responded with two goals to level the match and force a penalty shootout.
At the conclusion of the match, the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Al-Hudaydah Governorate, Emad Al-Barai, along with Zabid District Director Yahya Abbad and Beit Al-Faqih District Director Hussein Sahl, presented the winning team with the championship trophy and the runners-up with the second-place trophy.
Organizers also presented individual awards to outstanding players in recognition of their performances throughout the tournament.
