Hodeida: Hodeida Governor Abdullah Atifi, First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri, and Deputy Governor Mohammed Halisi launched a comprehensive community campaign for cleanliness in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative, titled “Cleanliness is a Faith Commitment and Civilized Behavior,” aims to create a clean and healthy environment to align with the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan.
According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign started in the heart of the province, specifically in the square of the districts of Hodeida city. It extends to all districts with both official and community participation. Organized by the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, the campaign involves the Fund’s equipment, vehicles, and cleaners and is set to continue until the end of this month. Its primary goal is to remove waste and dust from streets, residential neighborhoods, markets, and public gatherings, in collaboration with official authorities and community members.
Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri highlighted the significance of voluntary initiatives in enhancing the quality of cleanliness and improving the aesthetic appearance of cities and residential areas. He noted that this annual campaign coincides with the arrival of Ramadan and aligns with directives from Sayyid Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, emphasizing the special character of the month among Yemenis. The campaign is viewed as a positive gesture to welcome Ramadan with clean hearts and environments, underscoring the principles of compassion and cooperation.
Deputy Al-Bishri further emphasized the importance of regular campaigns to boost community awareness about cleanliness and instill the value of such initiatives in citizens’ minds, especially with the approach of Ramadan. Executive Director of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, Abdul Nasser Al-Sharif, stated that the campaign is part of broader efforts to prepare for Ramadan in a clean atmosphere. It represents the state’s commitment to reinforcing the importance of cleanliness and proper waste disposal in designated areas.
