Sanaa: Governor Abdullah Atefi awarded on Thursday the 'Thawra Hospital Authority - Sinai' team the first-place trophy in the Ramadan football tournament for players over 40, organized by the Youth and Sports Office with support from Thawra General Hospital and the Arab Company for Silos.
According to Yemen News Agency, the final match between 'Sinai' and 'Jeel Shamsan' ended 0-0, with 'Sinai' winning the title with 13 points, and 'Jeel Shamsan' finishing second with 12 points. The 'Olympic' team was named the tournament's ideal team.
Governor Atefi praised the athletes as representatives of Yemen's football legacy and highlighted the strong organization and enthusiastic public turnout. Awards were also presented to standout players, referees, organizing committees, and former national team stars including Ahmed Al-San'ani, Hani Abdulrahman, As'ad Al-Qamasi, goalkeeper Mohammed Ayash, Ibrahim Hussein Arafa, and Ali Al-Saddis.
