Al mahwit: The local authority and the General Mobilization Division in Al Mahwit Governorate organized on Sunday a cultural and speech event to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of the eminent religious scholar, Sayyed Badr al-Din al-Houthi. During the event, attended by Deputy Governor Abdul Salam Al-Dhamari, Deputy Governor Hussein Arqad highlighted the scholarly and spiritual stature of Badr al-Din al-Houthi, describing him as a model scholar, dedicated educator, and sincere reformer who devoted his life to serving religion and the nation.
According to Yemen News Agency, Arqad noted that the passing of Badr al-Din al-Houthi represented a significant loss to Yemen and the Islamic nation, given his vast knowledge, profound insight, courageous positions in confronting challenges, contributions to strengthening faith-based identity and promoting Quranic culture. Arqad emphasized that commemorating this occasion provides an opportunity to draw inspiration from the values and principles that the late scholar embodied throughout his academic and missionary journey, and to follow his example of dedication, sacrifice, and steadfastness in upholding righteous causes.
For his part, Head of the Scholars Unit in the governorate, Musa Sharaf al-Din, described the anniversary as an important educational occasion to reflect on the lessons and experiences drawn from the scholar's life, which was marked by knowledge, struggle, education, and reform. He stated that the late scholar represented a comprehensive school of faith, exemplifying asceticism, piety, integrity, and patience. He also played a major role in preparing generations of scholars and students and raising awareness of the challenges facing the Islamic nation.
Sharaf al-Din pointed to Badr al-Din al-Houthi's prominent role in supporting the oppressed, reviving authentic Islamic values, and reconnecting the nation with the Quranic approach despite numerous obstacles and difficulties. He also praised his scholarly and intellectual contributions and his distinguished efforts in serving religion and strengthening the unity of the nation.
Meanwhile, Abdul Ghani Al-Darb, head of the governorate's Guidance Sector, reviewed aspects of the late scholar's academic and struggle-oriented legacy, his achievements in education, guidance, outreach, and his role in promoting awareness, insight, resistance to projects of domination and cultural targeting of the nation. He stressed the importance of following the approach of Badr al-Din al-Houthi and benefiting from his scholarly and intellectual legacy in strengthening faith-based identity and consolidating the values of solidarity, resilience, and steadfastness.
