Al mahwit: Al Mahwit Governorate witnessed 19 large public rallies on Tuesday in support of Islamic holy sites and in condemnation of what participants described as an offensive statement by former U.S. President Donald Trump against Mecca and the Holy Kaaba.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants said the remarks offended Muslims worldwide and represented an attack on Islamic sanctities, calling for a unified response to such actions. The rallies were held across the governorate's center and several districts, with the participation of local, executive, and security officials. Demonstrators raised slogans expressing anger over what they described as continued attacks on Islamic holy sites and symbols.
Speakers reaffirmed their commitment to Islamic values, national unity, and support for Palestinian rights, while stressing the importance of defending Islamic sanctities. A statement issued during the rallies reiterated the Yemeni people's rejection of repeated insults against Islamic symbols and holy sites. It also congratulated the Islamic nation on the Hijri New Year and praised what it described as victories achieved by Iran, Lebanon, Hezbollah, and the broader 'Axis of Resistance,' while calling for continued vigilance against future challenges.
