Mahweet: Al-Rujm Cooperative Society for Agricultural Purposes, in cooperation with the local authority in the al-Rujm district of Mahweet governorate, has launched the marketing of "composite local flour" as part of efforts to enhance food security and promote local products.
According to Yemen News Agency, district director Mohsen al-Saqqaf emphasized the local authority's commitment to supporting development projects that benefit citizens. He commended the Al-Rujm Cooperative Society for providing high-quality products at subsidized prices. The head of the cooperative, Mohammed al-Jandabi, highlighted that the "composite flour" is manufactured from premium grains at the cooperative's production unit and is available in 50, 25, and 10-kilogram weights at officially set prices.
Mohammed al-Jandabi explained that this initiative results from collaboration between the cooperative and the local authority, enabling direct distribution from farmers to consumers and avoiding monopolistic practices. Qasim Saleh, Director of the local branch of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, assured that the office will oversee the product's quality and sales at approved prices to prevent violations.
Marketing manager Mohammed al-Baghoush outlined the marketing plan, which includes sales at designated points with transparent pricing. He also mentioned plans to expand marketing efforts to include local honey and other agricultural products, thereby disrupting monopolistic control. Samir Taher, the monitoring and evaluation manager, assured that distribution will be closely monitored to maintain product quality and price stability and encouraged citizens to report any issues.
