Al-huban: The Minister of Education, Hassan Al-Sa'adi, and the Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawi, have inaugurated the newly constructed Faculty of Applied Sciences at Taiz University in Al-Huban. The construction of this building, which cost a total of 826 million riyals, was funded by the local authority, the Emergency Interventions Unit, and the university, with additional support from the Ministry of Communications and local businessmen.
According to Yemen News Agency, the cost breakdown for the project includes 650 million riyals for construction, 142 million for the solar energy system, and 34 million for furnishings. Minister Al-Sa'adi emphasized that this development is part of a broader strategy to enhance university education and introduce new specializations for the residents of the governorate. He acknowledged the efforts of the local authority in achieving this despite challenging circumstances.
Acting Governor Al-Masawi highlighted the inauguration as a significant milestone in the university's growth, mentioning plans to allocate more areas for future expansion. Following the ceremony, both officials visited several educational institutions, including Al-Abbas Schools, Taybah Educational Complex for Girls, and Qadat Al-Mustaqbal School, to assess the progress of the educational process and identify its needs.
