Sana'a: Al-Sayyid Abdul Malik Badruddin Al-Houthi, leader of the Houthi movement, delivered a speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the Great Battle of Badr, also known as the Day of Criterion, highlighting its historical significance and its relevance to current tensions facing the Muslim Ummah. According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Houthi emphasized the enduring impact of the Great Battle of Badr, which took place in the second year after the Hijrah, marking a decisive turning point in the establishment of Islam. He drew parallels between the historical confrontation of Islam against disbelief in Badr and the present-day struggles faced by the Muslim community against what he termed as the "tyrants of this era," including the Zionist Jews, Americans, and Israelis. Al-Houthi underscored the importance of the anniversary in offering lessons and guidance to the Muslim Ummah as it confronts contemporary challenges and dangers. He criticized the ongoing aggression against various Muslim nations, including Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran, and called for unity and resistance against these oppressive forces. The speech called for a significant mobilization of the Yemeni people to participate in million-strong demonstrations on Friday, coinciding with the anniversary of the Great Battle of Badr. The demonstrations are aimed at reaffirming commitment to jihad in the path of Allah, expressing solidarity with the Iranian Muslim people, and supporting the oppressed Palestinians and other Muslims facing aggression. Al-Houthi concluded by urging the Yemeni people to actively participate in the demonstrations, considering it a part of their jihad and Islamic duty, while also commemorating the historical significance of the Great Battle of Badr. He prayed for divine support and victory for the Muslim Ummah against its adversaries.
