Sana'a: A closing ceremony for the 1447 AH summer courses was held in the al-Tawilah district of Mahweet province under the slogan 'Knowledge and Jihad,' highlighting the programs' role in strengthening religious identity and student awareness.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was organized by the local authority and mobilization office in Mahweet governorate and featured speeches emphasizing the educational and cultural importance of the summer programs. Hizam al-Assad described the summer courses as an important educational and awareness project contributing to building a generation grounded in Quranic culture and faith-based identity, capable of confronting intellectual and moral challenges targeting the nation.
Speaking at the event, attended by Province undersecretaries Hussein Arqadh and Ali Sharaf Al-Din, Assistant Deputy Minister of Education Ahmed Abbas, and District Director Rashid Marwan, al-Assad said the courses carried two key messages: strengthening faith-based identity among youth and promoting Quranic culture to protect them from the dangers of 'soft war.' He praised the efforts of organizers, teachers, and workers involved in the success of the programs, as well as parents for enrolling their children, reflecting growing community awareness of the importance of educating and protecting younger generations.
Al-Assad added that the outcomes of this year's summer courses demonstrated significant attention to educational, physical, and skill-development aspects, noting that students had become more aware of their responsibilities toward their religion, homeland, and society. Ali Sharaf Al-Din highlighted the summer courses as educational and moral beacons that help build awareness and reinforce faith-based values among youth, serving as a first line of defense against harmful cultural influences.
He highlighted the strong community engagement that contributed to the success of the programs and commended the efforts of local authorities, educational officials, and supporting entities for creating a suitable environment for the summer activities. The event included chanting performances, scout presentations, and symbolic displays reflecting the skills and knowledge students gained during the summer courses.
