Allama Miftah Inaugurates New Electronic Criminal Record Center in Capital

Sana'a: Acting Prime Minister Miftah inaugurated the electronic criminal record issuance center in the capital city on Saturday, as part of the Ministry of Interior's plan to develop the security system and enhance the efficiency of its performance and services.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Acting Prime Minister, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulmajid Al-Murtada and several ministry officials, inspected the center's facilities, its modern equipment, and its advanced operational mechanisms. He learned about its role in streamlining procedures and processing transactions, with a capacity of up to five thousand transactions per day.

In a press statement following the inauguration, Muftah described the center as a significant achievement for the Ministry of Interior, noting its role in assisting applicants and those seeking services to complete their transactions easily and quickly within one or two hours.

He commended this achievement and its advanced and rapid operational mechanism, which will end the decades-long struggle people have faced in obtaining criminal records. The Acting Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Minister of Interior, his deputy, ministry leaders, specialists, and all those working in this field for this achievement. He hoped that other service departments within the ministry would follow suit, simplifying procedures for citizens through the automation of transactions.

At the inauguration, the Deputy Minister of Interior emphasized the importance of opening the automated electronic criminal record issuance center, which will streamline citizens' transactions and facilitate direct access to the service. He noted that the center's opening represents a qualitative leap in improving and developing the work of the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence, highlighting the achievements of the security and police sector in areas related to enhancing services provided to citizens. He considered the center a significant step towards strengthening security and facilitating services, especially for citizens who require it for various transactions.

Meanwhile, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Security and Police Sector, Major General Ahmed Jaafar, commended the efforts of the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence in facilitating citizens' access to electronic criminal records. He affirmed that the Ministry of Interior leadership is committed to facilitating and improving the services it provides to citizens, in accordance with the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership.

For his part, the Director of Criminal Evidence, Brigadier General Hussein Al-Makhdhi, reviewed the activities, procedures, and services the center will provide to citizens, noting that its launch today will significantly reduce overcrowding. He explained that the new criminal record issuance center has a capacity of up to five thousand transactions per day, combining traditional and electronic processes to simplify and improve services for citizens.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Director of Drug Enforcement at the Ministry, Brigadier General Akram Amer, the Director of Financial Affairs, Brigadier General Youssef Al-Shami, and a number of leaders and officers from the security and police sectors.
