Amran: The first National Education Forum was held in Amran province on Monday under the slogan "Education is Everyone's Responsibility." Organized by the education sector in cooperation with the local authority and the General Mobilization, the forum aimed to strengthen community partnership in supporting the education process, to unify official, community efforts to advance the education sector and improve learning outcomes, contributing to building a generation equipped with knowledge and skills.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants reviewed the current state of education in the province and the main challenges facing the sector, including school infrastructure needs, addressing student dropout, qualifying teaching staff, and providing modern educational resources. The forum also presented the national strategic vision for achieving inclusive, high-quality, and sustainable education based on community partnership.
Opening the forum, Amran Governor Dr. Faisal Jaaman stressed that education is the cornerstone of human development and sustainable progress, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to support the educational process. He highlighted practical measures adopted by the provincial Education Office, including the establishment of branches of the Faculty of Education in Qaflah and Khamir districts to qualify high school graduates, volunteer teachers, and help address shortages in science education specialists.
Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hatem Al-Duais reviewed the ministry's vision for achieving comprehensive, high-quality, and sustainable education, stressing that educational development is a shared responsibility requiring the combined efforts of all stakeholders. He also praised the educational initiatives launched across the province.
Amran University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Dhalai outlined the university's key strategic initiatives and achievements, including plans to establish branches of the Faculties of Education, Science, and Arts in several districts to address shortages in educational personnel. He emphasized the importance of national responsibility in implementing the forum's recommendations.
Secretary-General of the Local Council Saleh Al-Makhlous reaffirmed the local authority's support for education to bring about qualitative improvements, noting that genuine investment begins with education. General Mobilization official Hussein Al-Ghareb stressed that education is the foundation for building and advancing nations, calling for greater cooperation to ensure the success of the educational process and the implementation of educational programs and activities.
For his part, Abdulrahman Al-Amad, head of the province's education sector, reviewed the forum's objectives and themes, affirming that education is everyone's responsibility and describing the forum as an important opportunity to assess the educational situation and develop practical recommendations for improving educational performance.
The forum concluded with a number of recommendations, including expanding educational support to underserved areas, completing stalled education projects, training educational personnel, establishing a school for outstanding students, ensuring the provision of textbooks, strengthening community partnerships with the private sector, and allocating funds for school construction, rehabilitation, and improving teachers' conditions.
