Amran: A meeting in Amran governorate, chaired by Governor Dr. Faisal Juma'an, discussed the progress of the Technical Committee for urban planning, construction, and public works.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting reviewed issues related to unregulated construction in several areas, including al-Dabir, Surahtah, and al-Rumaih. The discussions addressed the planning and engineering challenges resulting from such violations.
Participants also deliberated on plans for road expansion projects within new neighborhood units and addressed concerns about buildings located on planned road routes. Governor Juma'an emphasized the importance of adhering to approved urban plans and tackling random construction. He stressed the need for coordination with security agencies to support infrastructure projects and maintain organized urban development.
Further discussions focused on the necessity of coordinating with the electricity corporation to integrate power lines into planning maps, aiming to prevent infrastructure conflicts. Officials from the Public Works Office and the Land Authority presented reports on construction violations. They called for closer cooperation with security forces to regulate building activities, remove illegal encroachments, and reinforce field monitoring and enforcement efforts.
