Awareness Meeting Emphasizes Importance of Zakat al-Fitr in Al-Hali District

Hodeidah: An awareness campaign on the significance of Zakat al-Fitr was launched by the Zakat Office in Al-Hali District of Hodeidah Governorate through an educational meeting aimed at scholars, preachers, and religious guides. This initiative was coordinated with the district office of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting featured insights from Mohammed Hazzaa, Director of the Zakat Authority Office in the governorate, and Abdulrahman Al-Warfi, Head of the Guidance Sector in the governorate. They highlighted the necessity of paying Zakat al-Fitr through the guardian authority, represented by the General Authority of Zakat and its district branches, to ensure it benefits the eligible poor and needy.

The discussions underscored the critical role of scholars, preachers, and guides in fostering community awareness about Zakat al-Fitr. It was noted as an obligation prescribed by Allah for the welfare of the poor, bringing them joy on Eid al-Fitr and helping them avoid hardship.

Hazzaa and Al-Warfi also elaborated on the collection mechanism for Zakat al-Fitr this year, urging enhanced awareness efforts in mosques and the wider community to ensure its payment through official channels.

Bassam Al-Laai, Director of the Awareness and Training Department at the governorate's Authority office, presented religious evidence underscoring the importance of Zakat al-Fitr and its delivery to the Zakat Authority, tasked with its collection and distribution to those in need.
