Awareness Program on Security and Safety Conducted for Students in Sana’a

Sana'a: An awareness program focused on security and safety was organized for students of public and private universities and community colleges in Sana'a. This initiative was spearheaded by the Higher Education Sector in cooperation with the Civil Defense Authority and Al-Andalus University.

According to Yemen News Agency, the program aimed to educate students on the roles of civil defense, disaster and emergency management, the use of security tools, safe evacuation procedures, first aid, and the protection of lives and property. Participants highlighted the importance of fostering a preventive culture within educational institutions and stressed the need for compliance with security and safety protocols, including emergency exits, evacuation plans, and firefighting equipment. They also advocated for linking the issuance of licenses to the fulfillment of these safety conditions.

The program successfully trained over 200 students and underscored the critical role of civil defense in disaster preparedness and response. It aimed to enhance the awareness of youth regarding security and safety, marking them as essential priorities amidst current challenges.
