Ba’ath Party Highlights Importance of October 14 Revolution in Yemen’s History

Baku:The Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party has declared the October 14, 1963 Revolution as a pivotal moment in Yemen's history. This revolution symbolized the people's rejection of foreign occupation and their pursuit of liberation from colonial rule, asserting their right to independent political and sovereign decision-making.

According to Yemen News Agency, the party emphasized that the uprising against British colonial rule in southern and eastern Yemen was a reflection of the people's aspirations for a state built on justice, equality, and the rule of law. It was also viewed as a courageous step towards Yemeni unity.

The party urged Yemenis to honor the sacrifices of martyrs who fought for freedom, independence, and national sovereignty. It highlighted the need to liberate remaining Yemeni territories from what it termed as Saudi aggression and other forces aligned with US imperialism and global Zionism.

Condemning Saudi actions against civilians, the party accused them of targeting women, children, the elderly, and civilian properties. It stated these actions indicated the aggressor's failure to achieve its objectives and loss of control.

The statement asserted that such crimes would not go unpunished and warned of a severe response. It praised the Yemeni armed forces' operations against Saudi targets, describing ongoing confrontations as decisive and committed to the principle of 'escalation for escalation and siege for siege' until the aggression ceases and the blockade is lifted.

The Ba'ath Party urged political forces collaborating with foreign powers to reconsider their positions, reminding them of Yemen's history of struggle. It warned against collaboration and dependency, suggesting it would lead to historical obscurity.

The party also called on those misled by Saudi influences in Taiz governorate and other regions to take advantage of a presidential amnesty, promoting reconciliation and forgiveness. It assured individuals who surrender their weapons or remain non-combative that they would not face harm, regardless of their affiliations.

Furthermore, the party condemned Israeli aggression in occupied Arab territories, reaffirming support for the Resistance Axis countries and movements in confronting Israeli actions and thwarting colonial schemes.
