Baydha: Evening in Qurayshiyah to Launch Al-Qurayshiyah Agricultural Cooperative Society

Baydha: An evening was held in Al-Qurayshiyah District, Baydha Governorate, to launch the multi-purpose Al-Qurayshiyah Agricultural Cooperative Society, under the slogan “Together Towards Self-Sufficiency.” During the evening, the society was officially launched, its bylaws were approved, and the administrative board and oversight and inspection committee were elected.



According to Yemen News Agency, Governor of Baydha, Abdullah Idris, emphasized that establishing cooperative societies is a pressing necessity to confront the economic challenges posed by the aggression and blockade. He considered the launch of an agricultural cooperative society in Al-Qurayshiyah District a significant achievement that contributes to supporting the agricultural sector and ultimately achieving self-sufficiency.



The governor stressed the importance of establishing the principles of transparency, accountability, and institutional work, which will strengthen trust between the society’s management and its members and expand the base of beneficiaries of its activities and projects in various fields. He pointed to the importance of agricultural cooperatives within the framework of the agricultural revolution and effective initiatives to thwart plans to starve the Yemeni people, emphasizing the readiness of the local authority leadership in the governorate to support the association and provide the necessary technical assistance to ensure its success.



The governor of Baydha noted that crises present an opportunity to overcome challenges and build self-reliance by utilizing available resources and transforming society from a consumer to a producer that contributes to the nation’s development and reconstruction.



During the evening, in the presence of the governorate’s deputy governor, Saleh Al-Jawfi, and a number of executive, local, and mobilization leaders, the director of Al-Qurayshiyah District, Tariq Abu Sarimah, explained that the local authority in the district gives special attention to agricultural cooperative work as a vital pillar of local development. He affirmed their readiness to provide all possible support to the association to enable it to implement its programs and future plans to serve the people of the district.



He also highlighted the importance of expanding crop cultivation, supporting productive families, and creating an agricultural renaissance in Al-Qurayshiyah District. Shaker Al-Soufi, coordinator of the Bunyan Development Foundation in the governorate, reviewed the association’s bylaws, objectives, tasks, programs, regulations, and coordination mechanisms with the general assembly and the governorate leadership to develop targeted development projects and programs. He emphasized the need to intensify efforts to advance the agricultural sector, in accordance with the directives of the revolution’s leader to prioritize agriculture in the governorate.
