Sana'a: Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, member of the Supreme Political Council, Acting Prime Minister Muhammad Miftah, and Minister of Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Saadi inaugurated the new academic year 1448 AH/2026-2027 CE on Saturday across the capital city and the governorates. They inspected the progress of the educational process at the Kuwait and Al-Mu'tasim schools in the capital.
According to Yemen News Agency, the officials listened to a briefing from Deputy Minister for Basic Education, Hadi Ammar, and the head of the education sector in the capital, Abdulqader Al-Mahdi, regarding preparations and efforts made to launch the academic year in schools nationwide. During the inauguration, the member of the Supreme Political Council congratulated students, teachers, and staff on the start of the new academic year and expressed gratitude to the government and education leaders for their efforts in launching the academic year.
The Supreme Political Council appreciated the efforts of education sector officials in completing arrangements for the educational process, noting that the capital, Sana'a, exemplifies discipline and ethics. Dr. Bin Habtoor expressed gratitude to the Supreme Leadership for its approach to national resistance and its decision to advance the education sector.
The Acting Prime Minister encouraged students to make this year distinguished through hard work and cooperation with educational staff. He emphasized the commitment of leaders from the Supreme Political Council and the government to support the educational process, ensuring a successful academic year by providing the curriculum.
The Minister of Education, Al-Saadi, affirmed the importance of education for national advancement, praising educators for their resilience despite challenges. He noted parents' keenness to send their children to school and urged students to adhere to good morals and Islamic values.
The Mayor of Sana'a and First Deputy Mayor, Khalid Al-Madani, praised the high student turnout, emphasizing the national responsibility to ensure a successful academic year and commending efforts from teachers and school administrations.
