Sanaa: The Office of Economy, Industry and Investment in the Capital Secretariat has taken decisive action by destroying 122 tons and 130 kilograms of expired and unfit food items that were deemed unfit for human consumption.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Director of the Economic Office in the Secretariat, Majid Al-Sadda, stated that the destruction process adhered strictly to legal procedures and was conducted in the presence of a public prosecution representative. This measure underscores the commitment of the authorities to safeguard public health.
Al-Sadda also emphasized that the office, along with its branches in the districts, is committed to enhancing market surveillance and the inspection of food and consumer goods. The office actively monitors commercial violations and takes necessary action by confiscating and destroying expired products to ensure consumer safety.
