Sana'a: The Mobilization Department in the Capital Sana'a organized an expanded meeting on Sunday that included scholars, preachers, and cultural, educational, and social elites, marking the launch of activities commemorating Wilayah Day for the year 1447 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Grand Mufti of Yemen, Allama Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, emphasized the significance of the occasion in fostering faithful loyalty and recalling the virtues of Imam Ali, who represented the true continuation of the message of Prophet Muhammad. The Grand Mufti highlighted the principle of Wilayah announced by the Noble Messenger at Ghadir Khumm, underscoring its importance as it marked the completion of the divine message.
Allama Sharaf al-Din pointed out that allegiance to Imam Ali serves as a shield against domination and subjugation by external forces. He noted that the current challenges faced by the nation, including conspiracies and cultural invasions, result from the absence of the true concept of Wilayah. He stressed the religious necessity of reviving this occasion.
Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Dhaifallah Rassam, discussed the gains and requirements of allegiance to Allah, His Messenger, and Imam Ali. He elaborated on the criteria for selecting a leader according to the Qur'anic concept to achieve victory over adversaries. He also praised Imam Ali's courage, asceticism, and piety, stressing the importance of renewing allegiance to him.
The First Undersecretary of the Capital Sana'a, Khalid al-Madani, emphasized the commemoration of Wilayah Day as a means to strengthen the Yemenis' connection to Imam Ali. He highlighted the role of allegiance in creating a dignified and victorious nation, encouraging the application of loyalty across various life aspects.
Dr. Taha al-Mutawakel of the Ansar Allah Political Bureau affirmed the Yemeni people's adherence to the principle of Wilayah, which has led to successive victories over tyranny. He reviewed religious texts related to Ghadir Day, highlighting the importance of accepting Imam Ali's Wilayah as directed by Almighty Allah.
Dr. Qais al-Tal, head of the Guidance Sector in the Capital Secretariat, spoke on commemorating Wilayah Day and establishing the prophetic declaration at Ghadir Khumm. He emphasized organizing events to highlight the Yemenis' devotion to Imam Ali and the enduring significance of this religious occasion.
