China’s Consumer Price Index Increases by 0.5% Year-on-Year

China: Official data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics on Sunday showed that the Consumer Price Index (CPI), a key measure of inflation, rose 0.5 percent year-on-year in July. According to Yemen News Agency, the core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, rose 0.9 percent year-on-year. On a monthly basis, the CPI fell slightly by 0.1 percent in July, influenced by imported international factors. The data also showed that China's Producer Price Index (PPI), which measures the cost of goods at the factory gate, rose 3.5 percent year-on-year in July.
