Beijing: China's services trade rose by 4.9% year-on-year in the first four months of 2026, with exports of travel and knowledge-intensive services registering particularly strong growth. The total value of imports and exports of services reached approximately 2.49 trillion yuan (about US$364.65 billion) during the January-April period.
According to Yemen News Agency, during this period, travel services exports grew at the fastest rate of any service export sector, rising 30.4% to 147.15 billion yuan. Trade in knowledge-intensive services increased by 5.1% year-on-year to 1.1 trillion yuan during the same period, accounting for 44.4% of total services trade. Exports of cultural and entertainment services and intellectual property rights fees saw significant increases of 39.5% and 20.8%, respectively.
Data also showed that total imports of transportation services reached 316.45 billion yuan during the period, marking a 24.9% increase, the fastest growth rate among the top five service import categories.
