Beijing: Official data released on Friday showed that China experienced a bountiful summer grain harvest this year, with production reaching 150 million tons for the first time.
According to Yemen News Agency, a survey conducted by China's National Bureau of Statistics revealed that summer grain output reached 150.75 million tons this year, marking an increase of 0.7% or one million tons compared to the previous year.
China's summer grain planting area remained largely stable at 26.53 million hectares, showing a slight decrease of 0.2% compared to last year. The wheat planting area specifically exceeded 23 million hectares, experiencing a decrease of 0.3% year-on-year.
The yield per hectare reached 5,681.6 kilograms, reflecting an increase of 0.8% year-on-year, as reported by the bureau.
