Civil Service Minister Initiates Inspection Campaign to Evaluate Employee Attendance and Discipline

Sana'a: Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development Dr. Khaled Al-Hawali launched a field inspection campaign to monitor and evaluate employee attendance and workplace discipline across public service units on the first official working day following the Eid Al-Adha holiday.

According to Yemen News Agency, the launch was attended by Deputy Minister Anas Sinan and the Ministry's Undersecretaries for Oversight and Evaluation, Al-Ezzi Al-Hattami; Public Service Affairs, Ali Al-Kabsi; and Human Resources Systems and Policies, Shukri Abdul Mawla. Minister Al-Hawali emphasized the importance of maintaining workplace discipline in all public service units, highlighting its role in enhancing performance and delivering public services to citizens efficiently.

He stated that the deployment of inspection teams is a reflection of the Ministry's commitment to supervising and monitoring employee discipline within public institutions. Al-Hawali noted that holidays offer a chance for personal, professional, and institutional self-assessment, aligning with a Qur'anic approach to evaluating performance and addressing challenges and shortcomings.

The Minister explained that the Ministry's field inspection activities, aimed at monitoring and assessing attendance and workplace discipline in public service units and provincial offices, are part of its core responsibilities and are conducted continuously.

He underscored the significance of inspection teams in promoting workplace discipline, indicating that the current period necessitates increased efforts to preserve state institutions and enable them to continue fulfilling their duties, especially those that directly serve citizens.

Undersecretary Al-Hattami added that nine field inspection teams have been tasked with overseeing and evaluating workplace discipline in 18 public service units. He also reviewed a report on employee attendance and performance following the previous Eid Al-Fitr holiday, noting significant progress in administrative and institutional development. This progress aims to enhance work quality in state institutions and ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality services to citizens more easily and swiftly.
