Dhamar: The Committee for Addressing Prisons and Prisoners' Issues, appointed by the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council, conducted an inspection of the Central Prison in Dhamar Governorate. The visit was led by Sheikh Ali Nasser Qarsha, who emphasized the committee's mission to alleviate the suffering of prisoners and address their humanitarian and legal concerns.
According to Yemen News Agency, the inspection was attended by committee members, including scholars Ali Al-Hadi, Abdul-Khaliq Al-Shami, Ahmed Al-Dailami, and Mohammed Al-Qasimi, alongside Deputy Head of the General Authority for Endowments Al-Azzi Majali. Qarsha highlighted that the committee aims to review the conditions of prisoners and examine various cases, such as those involving homicide, insolvency, and private rights. Additionally, the committee will address cases of inmates with expired sentences or those whose files are still under investigation or trial.
Qarsha stated that the committee's objective is to expedite the resolution of pending cases in coordination with judicial authorities and public prosecution offices. This includes reviewing the files of prisoners with good conduct in public rights matters, facilitating the release of eligible inmates under the law.
The visit aligns with the commemoration of Ashura, and Qarsha announced that the committee will commence its fieldwork in Dhamar governorate next Saturday. This initiative aims to accelerate efforts to address prisoners' humanitarian issues and alleviate the suffering of inmates and their families.
Mohammed al-Mahdi, Director of Security for Dhamar Governorate, reaffirmed the commitment of security authorities to support the committee's efforts in improving prison conditions and prisoner welfare. He commended the committee's collaborative work with courts and prosecution offices, which has helped resolve numerous cases across several governorates.
Hussein al-Sufyani, Director of the Central Prison, expressed the prison administration's dedication to providing all necessary facilities to ensure the committee's success. This support is crucial for upholding justice, redressing grievances, and expediting procedures related to prisoners' cases.
