Sana’a: The Committee for Addressing Prison and Prisoner Issues, led by Sheikh Ali Nasser Qarsha, carried out an inspection of several detention centers in the Ibb Governorate recently. The inspection tour covered the Criminal Investigation Prison and the Remand Prisons located in the districts of Dhi As Sufal and Yarim, aiming to evaluate the conditions faced by inmates.
According to Yemen News Agency, the committee engaged with the inmates regarding their legal, living, and health conditions. They listened to the complaints of the prisoners and assessed the duration of their detention along with the progress of their legal cases. This interaction was aimed at gaining a comprehensive understanding of the issues faced by the detainees.
Committee members reiterated that these visits are part of the leadership’s directives to expedite legal procedures, ensure justice for the oppressed, and rectify any existing irregularities. Additionally, the committee has started documenting cases that allege injustice or unwarranted delays, with the intention of referring these cases to the appropriate authorities for further action.
