Sana'a: The Communications team qualified for the second round of the 9th Yemeni Telecommunications Football Tournament for Companies, organized by the Companies Union at the Recreational Club stadium in the capital Sana'a.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Communications team's qualification came following a convincing 6-0 victory over the International Bank of Yemen in the match that brought them together today, Saturday, for Group One, strengthening their lead at the top of the group with 12 points.
The Communications team's six goals were scored by Hisham Al-Falahi (two goals), Walid Aqlan, Mahdi Al-Kuwaili, Aziz Al-Zariqi, in addition to an own goal, while the only goal for the International Bank of Yemen was scored by Ayman Al-Sarouri.
In the same group, the Military Cardiac Center team revived its hopes of competing for the qualification ticket, defeating Yemenia Airways by four goals to two. The Military Cardiac Center's four goals were scored by Abdulrahman Dawood (two goals), Younis Al-Shami, and Mufeed Al-Rouhani, while the two goals for Yemenia Airways were scored by Waseem Al-Asbahi and Isa Al-Sharjabi.
In another match within the same group, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights team achieved its first victory in the tournament at the expense of Future University, winning 1-0, with the goal scored by Akram Al-Yamani in the first minute of the match.
With these results, the Communications team topped Group One with 12 points, securing early qualification. The Military Cardiac Center team rose to second place with 6 points, ahead of Future University (third) and the International Bank of Yemen (fourth) on goal difference, while Yemenia Airways remained stuck on 3 points in fifth place, and the Ministry of Justice team came last with the same points (3 points).
The Zakat Authority team had already secured the first qualification ticket to the second round from Group Four, following their 5-2 victory over the Specifications and Measurements Authority on Friday, raising their tally to 10 points at the top of the group.
