Conclusion of Free Medical Camp for Ophthalmology, Eye Surgery in Al-Mahwit

Al-mahwit: The free medical camp for ophthalmology and eye surgery concluded today at the Republican Hospital in Al-Mahwit Governorate. The camp lasted for six days, organized in cooperation with the Anwar Al-Muttahidun Eye Center, supported by the Direct Aid Society, and coordinated with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Health and Environment, and the Health Office in the governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Deputy Director of the Republican Hospital, Dr. Talal Hubaish, explained that the camp received 2,549 cases of men, women, and children from poor and needy families, who benefited from examination, screening, and medical evaluation services.

He pointed out that 450 cases benefited from laboratory services and medical tests, while 450 surgical operations were performed for cataract removal and lens implantation after completing the necessary examinations.

He noted that the camp demonstrates the importance of free medical initiatives in reaching patients unable to afford treatment costs, affirming that its success was the result of cooperation between health authorities and supporting partners.

The Deputy Director of the hospital praised the efforts of the Anwar Al-Muttahidun Center, the Direct Aid Society, the doctors, and the nursing, technical, and administrative staff, and the services and care they provided to patients during the camp's implementation.
