Al-tawilah: The competitions of the Mawlid al-Nabawi Sports and Cultural Tournament concluded today at the Youth Field in Al-Tawilah city, Al-Mahwit Governorate, after ten days of competition involving a number of sports teams and students.
According to Yemen News Agency, the final match brought together the Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal teams, both affiliated with the Shabab Al-Tawilah Sports and Cultural Club. Al-Ittihad managed to score the first goal during the first half, before extending their lead in the second half with a second goal from a penalty kick, ending the match with a 2-0 victory and claiming the tournament title.
Following the final match, the Al-Ittihad team was honored with the championship trophy and gold medals, while the Al-Hilal team received the runner-up trophy and silver medals. Additionally, the 26 September School team from Bayt Qutainah was honored with the first-place trophy in the cultural competitions accompanying the sports tournament, after achieving first place in the cultural competition events.
The Director of the Youth and Sports Office branch in the district, Ahmed Jamil, emphasized the importance of organizing such sports and cultural activities that contribute to discovering and developing the talents of youth and students, fostering a spirit of positive competition and teamwork, alongside commemorating religious and national occasions with meaningful events. He praised the level of active participation from the teams and students, appreciating the efforts of the organizing committees, coaches, supervisors, and everyone who contributed to the success of the tournament and the accompanying cultural competitions.
