Sana'a: The Yemeni Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control Organization concluded today a specialized training program on statistical methods used in inspection and conformity work.
According to Yemen News Agency, the program was organized by the Authority's Training and Qualification Center and lasted ten days, involving 35 trainees from the Authority's cadres. It comprised both theoretical and practical elements, focusing on the basic concepts of statistics and its role in inspection and conformity work, including methods of data collection, analysis, and presentation, as well as concepts of samples and selection methods.
The training also covered fundamentals of probabilities, random variables and their distributions, sampling methods, and statistical inference. This was aimed at enabling participants to utilize statistical tools in supporting technical and supervisory decisions.
At the conclusion of the program, the Executive Director of the Authority, Abdullah Al-Atifi, highlighted the significance of such programs in improving the skills of technical staff. He noted that inspection and conformity are crucial for ensuring product and service quality and protecting consumers.
Al-Atifi further explained that enhancing statistical and analytical knowledge among specialists aids in increasing the precision of supervisory decisions and boosts compliance with approved standard specifications. He affirmed the Authority's commitment to training its members based on modern scientific and practical principles, to efficiently handle and analyze data while keeping up with developments in quality and control fields.
The program concluded with a ceremony attended by several dignitaries, including the Deputy Director of the Authority for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Kamal Margham, the Acting Director of the Training and Qualification Center, Ahmed Al-Kastaban, the Deputy Director of the Technical Inspection Department, Mohammed Atef, and the trainer, Dr. Ahmed Ali. Certificates were distributed to the trainees to mark their successful completion of the program.
