Conclusion of Workshop in Hajjah on Dangers of Unregulated Mining

Hajjah: The branch of the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority in Hajjah Governorate concluded an educational awareness workshop on the risks of unregulated mining. The three-day workshop, organized by the Authority's branch in coordination with the local authorities, aimed to train 20 geology graduates from the governorate on mechanisms for raising community awareness about the dangers and risks of unregulated mining.

According to Yemen News Agency, at the closing session, attended by the Authority's advisor Hussein Al-Nameer, the director of the branch in Hajjah, Mohammed Al-Qadami, stressed the importance of the workshop in educating participants on proper excavation methods that help them avoid risks, the need to adhere to legal standards and regulations. He pointed out the government's commitment to adopting mining mechanisms that take into account people's circumstances under the exceptional and difficult conditions facing the country, while still ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

For their part, the trainers, Engineer Fahd Al-Buraq and Engineer Luqman Al-Atab, highlighted the activities and programs covered in the workshop, particularly those related to awareness of excavation hazards and the importance of using only the permitted methods in mining.
