Taiz: The competitions of the "Greatest Messenger" football tournament continue in the districts of Taiz governorate, organized by the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate as part of the sports activities for the Prophet's birthday anniversary for the year 1448 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, today's competitions in the districts of Jabal Habashi, Al-Ta'iziyah, Shara'b Al-Rawnah, and Salah witnessed balanced and fiercely contested matches. In Jabal Habashi district, "Al-Sammad" team secured the second qualification spot for the final of the Greatest Messenger League after a deserved 3-0 victory over "Imam Ali" team, in a match where the winners imposed their attacking style and tactical activity.
In Al-Ta'iziyah district, for the first semi-final match, "Shabab Al-Jund" team earned a valuable 1-0 victory over "Israr Al-Kharabah" team, securing their place in the golden square and continuing their pursuit of the league title. Meanwhile, in Shara'b Al-Rawnah district, "Falah Qubair" team snatched the first qualification card for the final match after defeating "Wadi Al-Haddad" team 6-3 in an open encounter that saw a balanced exchange of goals until the final whistle.
In Salah district, "Ittihad Ahfad Bilal" team joined the ranks of teams qualifying for the final after overcoming "Al-Faqeed Mohammed Taha" team with a 6-3 scoreline. However, in a related context, today's rainfall in the governorate caused the postponement of a number of matches in the districts of Shara'b Al-Salam, Maqbanah, Haifan, and Al-Silw, with the organizing committee set to determine alternative dates later according to the approved schedule.
The Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Dr. Fakhr Al-Din Al-Bashiri, explained that the sports tournament comes to encourage popular sports, provide opportunities for young and emerging talents to showcase their abilities and develop their skills. He affirmed the commitment to nurturing young talents, stating that the tournament comes in celebration of the Prophet's birthday anniversary, strengthening the connection of this great religious occasion among the youth, young people, and athletes.
