Sana'a: The Development and Cooperative Work Management and Implementation Team in the Capital Secretariat, led by Social Affairs Committee Chairman and Deputy Team Head Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, held a coordination meeting with the leadership of the General Union of Clothing and Fabric Traders. The meeting aimed to discuss strategies for fostering a partnership to localize clothing manufacturing within the capital, specifically selecting Al-Safiyah District as a prototype for the project.
According to Yemen News Agency, the discussions also focused on equipping government clothing and tailoring workshops throughout the capital's districts. The meeting highlighted the importance of involving the private sector and the clothing and fabric traders in supporting and operating these workshops. Participants emphasized the necessity of aiding productive families by allocating fabrics and materials and designating a portion of imports to fulfill this objective.
Additionally, the coordination meeting resulted in the decision to form a joint team tasked with inspecting existing production workshops in Al-Safiyah and other districts. This team is expected to assess the workshops' current conditions and identify their operational needs to ensure successful project implementation.
Al-Naqeeb underscored the importance of coordinating efforts to uphold national responsibility in supporting local industries. He emphasized the potential for economic empowerment through these development projects and encouraged productive families to enhance their production efficiency and improve product quality.
