Hajjah: Deputy of the Fisheries Sector at the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Water Resources, Dr. Fawzi AlSagheer, inspected the Bayhis Landing Center affiliated with the Midi District in Hajjah governorate, which was destroyed due to the aggression.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy AlSagheer was accompanied by the Director General of the General Authority for Red Sea Fisheries Hajjah branch, Ameer Johari, the Fish Value Chain Officer Engineer, Zakaria Mahawish, and the head of the fishermen's association, Tanbol Amin. They reviewed the scale of damage inflicted on the center, the disruption of services provided to fishermen, and the impact on fish landing operations and daily fishing activities in the coastal area.
The Ministry Deputy listened to the fishermen's demands for rehabilitating the landing center and providing minimum essential services that enable them to continue their work and improve their living conditions. The Deputy of the Fisheries Sector emphasized the importance of Bayhis Landing Center in supporting fishermen and enhancing fishing activity in the Midi District.
He stressed the necessity of combining efforts to address the damage and support affected fishermen, which contributes to protecting the fisheries sector and enhancing its role in achieving food security. Additionally, there is a focus on preparing landing centers and improving the work environment to ensure the stability of fishing activity and maintain fishermen's income sources.
Additionally, Deputy AlSagheer reviewed the Majash Marina affiliated with the Abs District and the importance of opening investment opportunities to revitalize the area and overcome the damage of aggression and blockade on coastal areas.
