Sana'a: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, met with Noor Khaddam Al-Jami', Deputy Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission in Sana'a, to discuss cooperation between Yemen and the mission and ways to enhance and develop it.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, the Deputy Minister praised the role of the ICRC mission in Yemen and commended the historic relations between Yemen and the organization, as well as its commitment to humanitarian principles. He affirmed Yemen's readiness to provide all necessary facilitation for the mission and its staff, stressing the need to intensify the mission's efforts in the coming period due to the growing humanitarian needs caused by the continued aggression and blockade imposed on the country for the eleventh consecutive year.
For his part, the Deputy Head of the ICRC Mission presented a brief overview of the mission's activities in Yemen in the fields of health, water, food assistance, livelihood support, and protection. He confirmed that the mission will continue to provide all possible support to Yemen in a way that contributes to alleviating the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
