Sana'a: Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras met with the Acting Head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA), Mari Yamashita, to discuss the latest developments related to the mission's work in Yemen. During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated Sana'a's commitment to achieving peace and adhering to the Stockholm Agreement, including the Hodeida Agreement.
According to Yemen News Agency, Abu Ras noted that Sana'a has cooperated with the mission over the past seven years, providing it with all necessary facilities and fulfilling its obligations under the Stockholm Agreement, including the unilateral withdrawal from the ports of Hodeida, Salif, and Ras Isa. He added that the coalition and its mercenaries are the ones violating the agreements on a daily basis.
Abu Ras pointed out that the mission has witnessed many events that have occurred recently, stressing the need for a smooth transfer of responsibilities to the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen. He stressed the need to prioritize demining efforts in the coming period, given that it has not received the attention it deserves from the United Nations.
For her part, Mari Yamashita praised the support provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant authorities to the mission over the past years.
