Sana'a: Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras met with Anthony Hayward, Military Advisor to the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen, alongside Snezana Kaufman and Mohammed Al-Ghannam. The meeting focused on the transfer of the UN Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA) to the Special Envoy's Office and developments on various fronts.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Foreign Minister Abu Ras reiterated Sana'a's dedication to achieving peace and implementing the Stockholm Agreement, specifically the Hodeidah Agreement. He emphasized providing necessary support for transferring UNMHA's responsibilities to the Special Envoy's Office. Abu Ras highlighted the urgency of achieving peace in Yemen and urged Saudi Arabia to engage in negotiations to implement the agreed roadmap, addressing the humanitarian crisis and restrictions on imports.
Abu Ras warned that misinterpretations of regional developments have stalled the peace process and risk renewed violence. He noted that regional escalations have global repercussions. He affirmed that further escalation and wars are unnecessary in the region.
Anthony Hayward, the military advisor to the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen, expressed his commitment to supporting efforts for sustainable peace in the country.
