Hodeida: Adel Bader, the Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, reviewed on Friday the water project and electricity service needs of Hays and Al-Khokha districts in the Hodeida governorate. Bader inspected Hays and Al-Khokha power stations and water projects in both districts, as well as the requirements for boosting water pumping and electricity generation for the local population.
According to Yemen News Agency, this visit followed the expulsion of Saudi-aligned forces from the districts and the restoration of security and stability there. During the visit, the Deputy Minister emphasized that this move translates into practical action the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the Head of the Supreme Political Council regarding the assessment of citizens' immediate needs and the provision of essential services-specifically electricity and water.
He noted that the leadership of the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water prioritizes improving water services and electricity projects in Hays and Al-Khokha, aiming to alleviate the suffering of citizens amidst the ongoing aggression and blockade. Bader highlighted the Ministry leadership's commitment and keen interest regarding Hays and Al-Khokha, as well as its diligent efforts to provide full electricity and water services to the residents and to overcome the obstacles imposed by the aggression and blockade over the past 12 years.
For his part, Dr. Al-Rifi, Director General of the Public Electricity Corporation, emphasized the importance of visiting the Hays and Al-Khokha districts to assess the needs of their respective power stations and evaluate opportunities to expand electricity services to areas within these districts, thereby ensuring service provision for the local population. He explained that power generation sites and transformer stations in Al-Khokha and Hays have been secured through coordination between the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the Public Electricity Corporation, and the local authority in Al-Hudaydah Governorate.
Al-Rifi noted that the generation sites are secure and that the power stations in Al-Khokha and Hays are operating normally. He affirmed the commitment of the Ministry and Corporation leadership to expanding electricity services to the residents of both districts.
