Sana'a: Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar al-Bukhaiti inspected the progress of media work in the television sector, which includes the satellite channels 'Yemen, Aden, Saba, and Al-Iman.' Dr. al-Bukhaiti toured the departments and sections of the television sector, receiving briefings from key figures including Mohammed Abu Talib of the Yemen Satellite Channel, Abdulalem al-Saqaf of the Aden Satellite Channel, and directors Ahmed al-Mukhtafi of Saba Channel and Walid al-Nashiri of Al-Iman Channel. These briefings addressed the operations in news departments and the management of newsroom activities to keep up with current developments.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. al-Bukhaiti also held discussions with the Head of the Television Sector and directors of the satellite channels on ways to enhance media and news performance within the sector and to address the challenges they face. He commended the television sector staff for their resilience and dedication, acknowledging their significant role in conveying purposeful media messages and shaping an informed public opinion rooted in Qur'anic culture and a faith-based identity.
Dr. al-Bukhaiti underscored the significance of media personnel in the television sector, equating their role to that of fighters defending Yemen's sovereignty and independence. He highlighted the accumulated expertise within the sector, enabling it to confront the media machinery of aggressor countries despite their vast resources. Dr. al-Bukhaiti called for intensified efforts to develop the capabilities of television staff in media, technical, and engineering fields, aiming to improve performance levels and adapt to modern technologies.
