Sanaa: Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals Mohammed al-Najjar met on Wednesday with Head of the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums Ubad al-Hayal to discuss measures for safeguarding archaeological sites during oil, gas, and mineral exploration activities. The meeting emphasized the need for clear strategies to protect cultural heritage from potential impacts of exploration, ensuring that Yemen's historical identity is preserved.
According to Yemen News Agency, both sides agreed on enhancing coordination between the Ministry of Oil and Minerals and the Antiquities Authority. The discussions centered on integrating archaeological considerations into exploration plans and continuing technical cooperation to protect archaeological sites while advancing economic development.
