Sana'a: A meeting was held at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana'a University on Monday, chaired by the University Rector, Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, to discuss ways to develop the infrastructure for digital transformation and modern technological systems.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included the Assistant to the University President for Medical Colleges and Hospitals, Dr. Abdul-Hafiz Thawaba, and a technical team from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology headed by Engineer Mohammed Abu Manser, along with the Minister's Advisor, Akram Awad, and Engineer Nabil Jamal, who addressed the necessary steps to enhance digital transformation and improve the educational and technical environment at the faculty.
Participants reviewed the technical aspects related to developing communication networks, network infrastructure, data centers, monitoring systems, and digital systems that support the educational and administrative processes, thereby enhancing performance efficiency and meeting the requirements of the next phase.
The participants also discussed future technological needs and developed appropriate plans for implementing development projects based on modern principles, contributing to building an integrated digital environment that supports education, scientific research, and institutional services.
The university rector commended the existing level of cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, emphasizing that this partnership represents a model of integration among state institutions in serving the higher education sector. He affirmed the university's commitment to implementing a comprehensive vision for modernizing its technological infrastructure across its various colleges and centers, leveraging national expertise to build effective partnerships that achieve sustainable institutional development.
For their part, ministry representatives confirmed their readiness to provide technical and advisory support and to utilize national expertise to ensure the success of technological development projects at Sana'a University. This support aims to enhance digital transformation and improve the efficiency of the technological infrastructure in all its facilities.
Following the meeting, the participants conducted a field visit to the laboratories of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Pathology Museum to assess the current state of the technological infrastructure, identify technical needs, and determine development requirements.
